A man fainted in the Oval Office today. This was Trump’s reaction (the video is no better). Below, a similar incident with Obama and a very different reaction.
A comment: “Just replace the guy on the floor with America and we have the prefect painting for 2025.”
Another comment: “No one else remembers Trump himself describing how he was repulsed by the sight of an 80-year-old man falling and splitting open his skull at his club? 2008 Howard Stern interview:
I was at Mar-a-Lago and we had this incredible ball, the Red Cross Ball, in Palm Beach, Florida. So, you have all these really rich people, and a man, about 80 years old – very wealthy man, a lot of people didn’t like him – he fell off the stage… So what happens is, this guy falls off right on his face, hits his head, and I thought he died.
And you know what I did? I said, ‘Oh my God, that’s disgusting,’ and I turned away.
I couldn’t, you know, he was right in front of me and I turned away. I didn’t want to touch him. He’s bleeding all over the place, I felt terrible.
You know, beautiful marble floor, didn’t look like it. It changed colour. Became very red.
And you have this poor guy, 80 years old, laying on the floor unconscious, and all the rich people are turning away…
I was saying, ‘Get that blood cleaned up! It’s disgusting!’ The next day, I forgot to call [the man] to say is he OK.
It’s just not my thing.”
Trump, bored if not irritated, in the Oval today after a man fainted.
Then, there’s Obama’s reaction to a similar incident…

My view: The video and the photo both show apparent lack of interest, the kind of evident interest and caring in the Obama video. Where’s your bias in this?
The contrast with the Obama video or incident is striking. That, coupled with the context (Trump as a selfish human being with a long track record of self-interest, including the quote from Trump’s own mouth about his reaction to someone getting hurt in front of him at Mar a Lago).
To be clear, I don’t dislike Trump out of mere partisanship. I dislike him for his cruelty to others, his corruption, his selfishness, his lack of interest in democracy. Facts, not hate, is the basis of my dislike for his…hate.
Social media and partisanship often are intertwined and our society is the worse for it. But in this case, as in too many with this cretin of a man, his disdain or lack of interest in others seems evident. But I respect your conclusions if different.
