FEED* GAZA

Empathy is the path forward.

Caring action naturally flows from giving a care about others, not just ourselves (the MAGA approach to “hurt others, not me, daddy”).

John Oliver: “Gaza is starving, is a sentence that’s objectively true, but it’s also slightly misleading because it’s too passive. Gaza is being starved by Israel.”

“Similarly calling it a famine, whilst true, makes it sound like it’s the result of a natural disaster and not that Palestine is being held siege.” ~ a comment

Worth reading for actual facts, action, and caring: “one-third of Gaza’s population had not eaten for multiple days in a row. Small children are dying of starvation…”

“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the greatest intention.” ~ Kahlil Gibran

To folks calling this photo fake:
This pic was pulled from this article: https://abcnews.go.com/…/idf-conduct-aid…/story…
The photographer is Abdel Kareem Hana of AP.
EDIT: I’m seeing multiple comments claiming (without evidence) that this picture is actually of a Yazidi girl fleeing ISIS and was taken in 2014.
The origin of this seems to be from Dr. Eli David on X, who has also claimed (without evidence) that this picture is from 2014.
A reverse Google image search of the picture in this post shows that this picture was indeed taken by Abdel Kareem Hana of AP and the only references are from July 26, 2025.
There is a chance that these people are mistaking this for Youssef Bouldal’s actual image of a Yazidi girl in Iraq fleeing ISIS, which was taken in 2016, but bears no resemblance to the image above: https://www.cbc.ca/…/dion-yazidis-genocide-isis-1.3638928

*”Food alone won’t help.

Just pointing out food doesn’t help starvation.

You need medical treatment to get back to eating again.

And they have no hospital to preform this treatment.

Thus guaranteeing that anyone that has entered a state of starvation won’t survive.”

*”I’ve been saying this to the people around me and they all seem like they forgot that you can’t just give a starving person food. All of these people are educated and understand this concept from learning about historical genocides like the Irish potato famine and the holocaust.

I really don’t understand how people can’t clearly see that the IDF and other world governments permitted this “famine” to get to the point of no return.

I feel so helpless.” ~ comments

“Here Jesus gives us the Corporal Works of Mercy: Feed the hungry. Give drink to the thirsty. Clothe the naked. Visit the sick and the imprisoned. The other two are shelter the homeless and bury the dead.” ~ an Elephant reader comment

I, and other Elephant writers, have called out Bibi and Hamas both from the beginning (literally the day of Hamas’ terrorism attack) though folks don’t always read/see our coverage. So to repeat: killing or harming or starving innocents is never okay, and is in fact a war crime.
