Paramount/CBS cancels Colbert, afraid of Lord Farquad. Here’s how Jon Stewart & Colbert replied.

“A Blockbuster kiosk inside of a Tower Records.” But you don’t stop selling music, you find another way with your top-rated program.

As the aphorism goes, “They wanted to bury us, but they didn’t know we were seeds.” ~ Mexican proverb.

Colbert & Jon Stewart reply to Trump + Paramount/CBS canceling the Late Show:

Really sad. Chilling effect. Fear. Giving in to threats. Democracy weakening, all that.

Stewart and Colbert, as they do, cheered me up with their humor, sure—but mostly, their courage, their goodness, their caring…

Colbert:

“Jon putting his job on the line for his friend [and democracy, no joke] because he knows it’s the right thing to do.”

Jon Stewart (part about Colbert starts some 16 minutes in, but it’s all good):

A few comments: “I cancelled Paramount Plus. When asked for a reason, I clicked other and typed this: “If your bottom line is more important than saving Democracy and standing up for what is right, you will never get another penny from me. I am cancelling because CBS cancelled Colbert.” Standing up to evil is more important to me than NCIS and the other CBS shows I love. Please, anyone who cancels Paramount Plus — TELL THEM WHY!!!!! Let the corporations know that we see what they are doing and we are not happy!!!!”

“I cancelled my streaming subscription to Paramount. Not for political reasons but as a purely financial decision. Well, and also, giving money to cowardly, spineless, toady corporations just isn’t something I want to do.”

For me, I’ll be watching Colbert (already record his shows). That said, yes, send our money to PBS/NPR and local journalism! Local public stations got hit hardest by Trump’s defunding…and if anyone subscribes to Paramount/CBS, cancel and put that money toward brave networks and journalism.
