Feeling Spiritually Weary in these Divisive Times? Here are 4 Ways to Come Home to Yourself.

“What drains your spirit drains your body. What fuels your spirit fuels your body.” ~ Caroline Myss

~

It’s hard to stay rooted in peace when the world feels like it’s spinning in chaos.

I feel it in my body. It’s a kind of spiritual fatigue. A quiet ache in my chest, a heaviness in my bones, and a sense that everything is on fire.

Lately, I feel like my spirit is whispering: Please come back to me.

Here in America, rights are being stripped away, censorship is rising, and political cruelty in every direction continues to dehumanize all of us. I can’t believe I live in a world where the values of kindness, truth, empathy, and basic human decency are mocked.

The toxic energy of the collective whole weighs heavily on me, and yet, breath by breath, I am learning that being sensitive isn’t a flaw.

It’s a calling—and with that calling comes the responsibility to take sacred care of my inner light.

When I ignore my soul’s whispers, I disconnect from my true self. When I listen—really listen—I remember how to return to wholeness.

If you find yourself relating to my struggles, here are four soul-soothing practices that I’ve come to rely on, and I hope they help you, too:

1. Touch the Sacred Each Morning

Before the outside world rushes in, I place my hand over my heart and say:

Today, I choose peace.

Today, I choose light.

Today, I choose moments of joy.

This simple intention becomes an invisible thread that connects me to my highest self throughout the day.

2. Wrap Yourself in Light

When my energy feels heavy or chaotic, I close my eyes for a few minutes and imagine a soft white light constantly surrounding me with the soft vibrations of inner peace, unconditional love, and hope.

This practice calms my nervous system, balances my energy, and reminds me that I am held by something greater.

I am protected.

I am grounded.

I walk in light.

3. Let the Earth Hold You

When I’m overwhelmed, I go outside, lean my back against a tree, let its trunk support me, breathe deeply, and let all my worries flow into the roots. It never fails to bring me home to myself.

Mother Earth, hold what I cannot.

4. Create a Small Sanctuary

Sometimes my soul needs beauty. Something simple, sacred, and quiet. I light a candle, place a crystal beside it, whisper a prayer, a hope, or simply sit in silence. This small act of inner peace reminds me that I am not alone. The Universe is listening.

As we move through our challenging times, this is my loving and light-filled reminder:

You don’t have to be everything to everyone, and you don’t have to solve the world’s pain. You only need to tend to your light. One breath, one pause, and one act of softness at a time. Your calm is a blessing, your inner peace is powerful, and your healing creates a ripple effect.

What about you, dear reader? Have you felt spiritually weary lately? What small practices help you reconnect to your soul in a chaotic world? I’d love to hear your wisdom in the comments. Your words might be just the light someone else needs.
